iMemories Named Best Buy’s Exclusive Provider for Digitally Preserving America's Home Movies and Photos

Partnership launches in time for 2009 holiday season.

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (October 21, 2009)iMemories, the premier Web destination for digitizing, storing and sharing personal videos and photos, today announced a national partnership with leading consumer electronics retailer Best Buy whereby iMemories will serve as the exclusive provider of a service for converting Best Buy customers’ home movies and photos into digital format. The new service is now available at www.bestbuy.com/imemories, and will be promoted in Best Buy's retail stores nationwide.

Through this partnership iMemories and Best Buy are able to serve a large and unaddressed customer need in the market, to digitally transfer and re-master the full range of personal image media found across American households, spanning family movies on VHS tapes, old film reels, photos and slides. In addition to digitizing family images, iMemories gives customers private online galleries to view, edit and share their images online, and the option to order archival quality DVDs containing all their family images.

“We knew iMemories would be a phenomenal compliment to Best Buy, since they help customers everyday with their technology needs and dreams," said Mark Rukavina, founder and CEO of iMemories. "Now with iMemories being promoted across Best Buy's U.S. retail stores and at www.bestbuy.com/imemories, Best Buy will be able to bridge America's families to digital living, by transferring a century's worth of old image formats into a crisp digital form that the customer can enjoy on their living room TV, on their personal computers, or just about any other device screen."

According to Rukavina, a VHS videocassette may have a life span of only a decade before it begins to degrade. iMemories offers a web-based solution for consumers to store and share their memories, including older media that can be preserved and restored safely into state-of-the-art digital quality. Once converted to digital form, iMemories’ customers can view and share their videos and photos online and create customized DVDs to enjoy at home and give as gifts. iMemories also offers a customer-friendly “watch before you buy” program allowing customers to review their transferred images online first before making a DVD purchase.

“iMemories was founded on the belief that people don’t want to leave their precious family images and memories behind as they make the transition to digital living,” added Rukavina. “By partnering with Best Buy, we will enable their memory-loving customers across America to not only preserve their family legacy in images, but to bring those images to life on screen with a richness that only the combined power of sight, sound and motion can deliver".
